I am certificatified for the Brazilian Blow Out and the  Marcia Teixeira Brazilian Keratin Treatment!  You have probably already heard about these treatments on TV talk shows or in any one of the fashion magazines.  These treatments repair damaged hair and soften frizzy curl.  In fact the more damaged and frizzy your hair is, the better the result.  Both treatments soften grey wiry hair so that your whole head of hair has the same consistent texture and soft feel.  They seal in your color so your fading is less.  The Keratin treatments control extreme frizz and softens natural curl and will work with any color, relaxer, or perm service. Keratin is a natural substance which comprises approximately 88% of your hair.  These treatments replace the Keratin lost in your hair due to aging, environment, heat styling, and chemical services.  This is not a chemical service it is a natural conditioning treatment that creates a SMOOTH, SILKY, SHINY, FRIZZ FREE, BOUNCY result.

The Brazilian Blow Out and The Brazilian Keratin Treatment are revolutionary treatments that repair damaged hair, producing spectacular results. After the treatment, the hair is shiny, sleek, frizz free and healthy for 3 – 5 months. As suggested by the name, these keratin treatments originated in Brazil, where they are typically called escova progressiva (progressive blow-dry). Having a Keratin treatment reduces drying time making the hair faster and easier to style. Both treatments can be used safely on just about any type of hair – dry, frizzy, over-processed, color treated, ethnic or even unprocessed virgin hair. The Brazilian Blow Out and The Brazilian Keratin Treatment are neither a traditional relaxer nor a straightener that can only be used on certain types of hair.  In fact, there's nothing traditional about this new type of service.  They do not involve a harsh chemical treatment process that can over process hair and leave it in poor condition.

Q: Can hair be colored before the treatment?

A:  Yes! The BEST time to have the treatment done would be directly after coloring or chemically treating the hair.  The hair is open and porous after haircolor. This allows the treatment to seal in the hair color, leaving the hair vibrant and extending the life of the color. You must wait two weeks to color your hair after the treatment.

Q: What sets Brazilian Treatments apart from older technology chemical straighteners and relaxers:
A: The Answer is simple.  This process doesn't involve breaking down the hair and restructuring it. The older technology treatments are designed to irreversibly modify and restructure keratin by using products  with very high pH levels, usually greater than pH 9 (very high alkalinity). At very high pH levels the hair shaft will soften, then swell tremendously and thus become damaged.  This is another big difference. The pH range of the Brazilian Keratin Treatment is between 4 and 5, exactly matching the normal pH of the hair itself. There is no softening or swelling of the hair shaft, so the hair is not compromised and each strand maintains it's strength and structural integrity. Keratin is a type of protein high in the amino acid "Cystine." This special amino acid is what makes hair tough and extremely elastic.  Scientists refer to Keratin as a "Biopolymer," due to its structure and interesting properties.  Keratin is a classic example of of a Biopolmer and it is the main structure building protein in or hair and nails.    The Treatment is long-lasting and gentle, and will eventually wash out over time, without harming the hair.
